Universal Lighting Technologies Introduces Bluetooth® Wireless Control Solutions

July 27, 2020

NASHVILLE, Tenn. (July 2020) – Universal Lighting Technologies, Inc., a global leader in lighting and a member of the Panasonic Group, recently introduced a complete, stand-alone wireless control system using Bluetooth® technology. The system devices include wireless Bluetooth® Controllers, Bluetooth® Occupancy and Daylight Sensors, Bluetooth® Switches, Conference Room Interface, and a Commissioning and Control Bluetooth® App.

“With code requirements becoming more complex, contractors and facility managers are tasked to optimizing controllability while maintaining regulatory compliance,” said Greg Bennorth, Director of LED products for Universal. “The Bluetooth Wireless Control Solution provides an easy-to-use Plug ‘N Control ™ wireless lighting solution with an easy to use App that provides advanced functionality, and flexibility to simplify the commissioning process and achieve code compliance.”

Designed for new or retrofit installations in a variety of commercial applications, the Bluetooth wireless system’s components work together to provide a wide array of functional features.   The fixture controllers work with 0-10V dimming drivers to provide full range continuous dimming. Using Bluetooth technology, the fixture mounted controllers and sensors seamlessly pair with each other as well as wall controllers and available IOS based control apps.  Configurable features include occupancy/daylight control, grouping options, and dimming with up/down and scene control. Occupancy Sensor settings include occupancy, vacancy and a Partial On & Partial OFF setting. Switches and controllers are line powered to ensure long-term reliability and performance.

All Bluetooth® enabled devices include their own wireless node for sending, receiving and sharing control commands through a wireless Bluetooth mesh network. The mesh network provides communication reliability to ensure that the lighting control commands reach all the fixtures in the system and the 128-Bit encryption provide by Bluetooth ensures a high level of security.

The Bluetooth Wireless system is supported through Universal’s ENERGY Select partner network and offers contractors solutions that comply with ASHRAE 90.1 and Title 24 requirements. The solution is DesignLights Consortium Qualified Product Listed (QPL) under the Network Lighting Controls (NLC) listing and provides end-to-end light solutions for upgrading facilities to efficient LED lighting.

The Bluetooth® Wireless App is available to download free on the Apple App Store. For more information about the Bluetooth Wireless App Control Solution, visit www.unvlt.com or email [email protected].
